Stalkr
Privacyverklaring Stalkr (ontwikkelingsfase)
Wie? Contact: contact@stalkr.be.
Contact : contact@stalkr.be.
Stalkr privacy notice (development phase)
Who? Oscar Devos is developing an information platform about Belgian enterprises, "Stalkr", as a private individual in Belgium, and is the controller of the processing described here. There is no company behind Stalkr. Contact: contact@stalkr.be.
What data, and from where? We process data from one publicly accessible source, the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (KBO/BCE) of the FPS Economy: the Open Data files that it makes available for reuse under a licence and, for requests about your rights, its public search website. We keep the files dated 22 August 2026 and later; we obtained the first ones on 23 September 2026 and regularly add newer ones. The files contain data on sole traders (natural persons registered as an enterprise): name, enterprise and establishment unit numbers, addresses, activities, status, legal situation (which can show, for example, a bankruptcy or a judicial reorganisation), dates and contact details (telephone, fax, e-mail, website). They can also contain data on other people, for example a name that forms part of the name of a company or association, or a personal telephone number or e-mail address registered as a company's contact details. They contain no data on directors or other officers of companies. For sole traders, all contact details and the legal situation are kept only in the original files and are not taken into our working database. Of companies' contact details, we take in only general e-mail addresses (such as info@), Belgian landline and fax numbers, and websites. We process no other source, such as annual accounts filed with the National Bank of Belgium or the Belgian Official Gazette.
Why, and on what basis? For research and development of the platform: keeping a faithful archive of the official register, including its daily changes, which the source keeps available for only about a month; developing and testing how the data are processed, checked for quality and protected, and how requests from the people concerned are handled; and producing statistics about enterprises for our own use. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in researching and developing this platform carefully and in keeping that archive. We have weighed that interest against your rights and interests in writing; you can obtain information about this assessment via contact@stalkr.be. Messages to contact@stalkr.be are used only to deal with them and to be able to show later how we did so: requests about your rights on the basis of our legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR); other messages, such as security reports, on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering them (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). This is a development phase: the register data are not published and not passed on to anyone, there is no search by person, no one is assessed or scored, and the data are not used for marketing. There is no automated decision-making. We do no profiling. Stalkr may later be offered as a service; before that, we will update this notice and our assessment.
Recipients and transfers: we keep the register data on our own equipment (a computer and a backup drive) and pass them on to no one, including AI services; apart from e-mail about a request (below), no hosting or cloud provider holds them. E-mail to and from contact@stalkr.be is processed on our behalf by Zoho Corporation B.V. (the Netherlands), under a data-processing agreement, and stored in the European Union. Staff of the Zoho group in India may access it where technical support requires it. India has no adequacy decision from the European Commission; that transfer is covered by agreements between the Zoho group companies based on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, whose text the Commission publishes. You can obtain a copy of these safeguards via contact@stalkr.be.
Retention: copies of the KBO files: 5 years after we obtained them. Data on a sole trader in our working database: as long as the enterprise is active, then 10 years after it stops, in the context of the enterprise only. Company data in our working database that can concern a person, such as a name that forms part of a company's name: as long as the company exists, then 20 years after it ends, and then without those details. A record of your dispute or of your supplementary statement: as long as the data it concerns. Correspondence about a request concerning your rights, and the record of how we handled it: 5 years after the request is closed. Other messages: 2 years after the last message. A coded marker (not your name) that keeps your data out after an objection or erasure: as long as the source may publish your data again, reviewed every year. Backup copies disappear at most 35 days after the original is deleted. The full retention schedule is available on request.
Your rights: you can ask for access to your data and a copy of them, and for their rectification, their erasure or the restriction of their processing. Send your request to contact@stalkr.be; no form is needed. It is free of charge, and we answer within one month of receiving it (for a complex request this period can be extended by two months; we would then tell you so within the first month, with the reasons). Before we send you a copy, we check that you are the person concerned, for example by sending our reply to the e-mail address registered for your enterprise in the KBO, or with a one-time code that we send by post to an address of your enterprise registered in the KBO. We never ask for a copy of your identity card or for your national register number. If a data item is wrong in the KBO itself, it must be corrected at the KBO; meanwhile we record your dispute. After a request for erasure or an objection we block your data at once, so that we no longer use them, and remove them from our working database within one month of receiving your request. The original KBO files, which we cannot split, are kept unaltered, locked and unused, only as evidence of what the register published and for possible legal claims, until they expire (5 years after we obtained them); the same applies to later KBO files, which also contain your data for as long as the KBO publishes them. The right to data portability does not apply, because our processing is based neither on consent nor on a contract. You may lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données, Drukpersstraat 35 / rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, www.dataprotectionauthority.be) or with the supervisory authority of the country in the European Economic Area where you live or work, or where you consider that the infringement took place.
Right to object: you may object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of your data, via contact@stalkr.be. We act on your objection at once: we stop using your data and remove them from our working database within one month of receiving it.
This website sets no cookies and keeps no access logs, and we use no analytics. It is hosted by statichost.eu (Variable Object Assignment, Sweden), with servers of Hetzner Online (Germany) and the content delivery network of BunnyWay (bunny.net, Slovenia). According to its processing agreement, statichost.eu uses your IP address only to deliver the page and does not store it; statichost.eu states that it keeps anonymous visit statistics, without personal data. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in making this notice available (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Last updated: 25 October 2026. We will update this notice before we add a source, a purpose or a recipient, or change how you can exercise your rights.
